Newport M.U.D. is NOT Under Any Boil Water Requirement

Newport M.U.D. has its own water and wastewater facilities that service the residents of Newport.  The District does not receive any services from the City of Houston, and Newport M.U.D is not connected to the City of Houston’s system in any way. Throughout this extreme weather event, the District’s Operator has been able to keep the pressure in the main lines above the state’s boil water requirement. At this time, the pressure meets and exceeds the state’s pressure requirements, and the water in Newport M.U.D. continues to be safe to use.
